Vancouver, BC: Walking Across the Burrard Bridge
One of my favorite parts of Vancouver, BC are all the bridges connecting parts of the city. The first bridge I walked across was the Burrard Bridge, just a little over a mile long.
As you can see from the signs, bicyclists have their own lane for traveling across the bridge. In fact it's like this all over Vancouver, many people riding their bikes or walking, hardly any traffic from cars at least while I was visiting.
I love the chaotic character of this street sign.
I'm so used to seeing speed limit signs in MPH in the U.S. but in Canada they use KM/H instead as part of the metric system. 50 KM/H converts to about 31 MPH.
Vancouver's buildings truly are different from any other cities I've visited before but that's part of what it makes it memorable for me. Every city has it's own characteristics, architecture is one of them.
Even bicyclists have their own speed limit on the bridge, 15 KM/H or about 9 MPH.
"The smell remains the same," this handwritten note caught my eye along with the bit of gold.
